Radio Show Talk Host and President of America’s Mortgage Center, Tim Barnett and wife Christie Barnett traveled to Washington, DC to speak with their Congressman Louie Gohmert, and other members of Congress about the prevailing “Mortgage Meltdown” issues facing Texas and the US consumers.

“It was an exciting time to be in DC”, stated Tim Barnett. After their meeting with Congressman Gohmert, the Congressman invited Mr. & Mrs. Barnett to the Floor of the House to view him in action work for his District. On that evening the House voted to pass the revised Senate Stimulus Package that was recently sent back to the house. Tim went on to speak about the benefits of the temporary increase of the FHA Loan Limit as a part the package. “This will allow us (FHA Approved Brokers) to help some those consumers that have these adjusting subprime loans with rates going through the roof” said Tim. He said that he would be going into more detail during his weekly radio show in the weeks to come.

Christie is not new to her husband’s business, she is very active in their business along with his partner, Kenneth Travis. “It breaks my heart to see families struggle to make their housing payments” stated Christie. As a loan processor, I see the clients most personal information and have always tried to make sure our customers can afford the home they are buying. Passing the proposed FHA Reform Bill will help more consumers get into a much better product and allow them to stay in their homes. FHA Loans offer fixed rates along with the FHA ARM without the wide range of the large adjustable rates that many consumers are faced with in the past.
